Jason Smart F.Inst.L.Ex,
Group Chief Executive Officer

Jason is the Group Chief Executive Officer for the LitComp Plc group of companies which includes Elite Business Development Limited t/as Elite Litigation Services and Elite Insurance Company Limited.

Jason qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1998.

He was a college lecturer in law and has twenty years experience as a litigation lawyer with a number of prominent law firms.

Jason established Perfect Consulting Ltd in 1998 and Legal Reports & Services Ltd in 2000.

In 1999, he established Company & Commercial Services Limited, which provided risk assessment services to insurers specialising in ATE legal expenses insurance.

He is also the former secretary of the Association of Medical Reporting Organisations, the leading medico-legal reporting trade body and a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel.

Paul Lavender FCA CF,
Group Finance Director

Paul is the Group Finance Director for the LitComp Plc group of companies which includes Elite Business Development Limited t/as Elite Litigation Services and Elite Insurance Company Limited.

Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978.

Paul is the finance director of LitComp Plc group of companies. He has particular experience in corporate finance, and of start-ups and fast growth companies including three successful listings and approximately twenty mergers and acquisitions and other fundraisings. Paul also has experience of the underwriting management, turnarounds and insolvency sectors.

Douglas Smith ACII,
FInstD Non-Executive Chairman

From 1987 until 1996, Douglas was the chairman of Corporate Risk Plc, operating in both Edinburgh and London. Corporate Risk Plc provided corporate insurance and risk management services to the private equity market. The company was subsequently acquired by Johnson & Higgins, which in 1997 was acquired by Marsh & McLennan. From 2000 until 2005, Douglas was chairman of the Marsh Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions division, which offered insurance and risk management services to the private equity and mergers and acquisitions sector. In 2005, Douglas elected to take early retirement from this position, and is currently chairman of Eurorisk Partners Limited, which offers risk management consulting services to the private equity sector. He was an industrial advisory board member of the Aberdeen Murray Johnstone Private Equity Fund.

From 2000 until 2004, he was a director of the engineering company Tanfield Group Plc and from 1997 until 2004 he was also a director of Heart of Midlothian Plc, and its Chairman from 1999. He is currently Chairman of Cairns Bond Limited (an executive recruitment company). He also holds and has held a number of other directorships, including those of several charitable organisations.

Doug is currently Chairman of Willis Mergers & Acquisitions and Cairns Bond Ltd and a number of other private companies.


Christopher Francis Collins,
Non-Executive Director

Christopher is Non-Executive Director of LitComp plc. He has a demonstrable track record and a wealth of experience in the insurance sector. He was Head of Insurance Regulation at the Financial Services Commission, Gibraltar, until his retirement last year and previously held other senior international regulatory positions as well as roles in the international insurance industry.
